Day 6 - Ministering in Uganda

The day started off by watching a beautiful sunrise over the African skyline as breakfast sausage and omelettes were being prepared. After a quick bite five vans full of God's people took off in the busy morning traffic to minister to various jungle villages north of Gulu. The road north is a dry dusty red clay dirt and it manages to find it's way into every part of your body, Most vans do not have a/c so we have to travel with the windows open. Once we arrived at our village we heard the buzz of excited children earnestly awaiting our arrival. After three hours of games, music, crafts and bible study we head back for the hour long trek to Gulu.

Lunch is served and shortly thereafter and tremendous thunderstorm lets loose. Loud thunder and huge flashes of lightening fill the sky and the rain comes down in buckets...we are anxiously waiting to see if it will stop in time so we can leave for the afternoon crusades. Fortunately the rain stops and we are able to drive back out to the villages. What a blessing the rains were as the road are no longer dusty but they are pretty flooded in some spots making the trip a little slower. The crusades go off without a hitch and we see multiple people give their lives to Jesus.

Finally after a long day we drive back to Gulu to grab some late dinner and back to the hotel to get some rest to do it all over again tomorrow, CAN'T WAIT!!!

Prayer Request:

  • A demon possessed man who was throwing fire onto the crusade stage.
  • Another demon possessed man who was throwing bricks at us.
  • A small child was paralyzed on one side.
  • Several blind elderly folks who could not be helped by the eye doctors.

  • A woman who was on crutches was prayed for and is now able to walk without them.
  • Multiple people giving their lives to Jesus!
