Apprentice-in-training
Some time ago, a man called Tony, told me of a group, a Community Group. He said God was calling him to move his ministry to a planted church elsewhere. He asked me to pray and consider leading this Community Group. I felt unworthy and unprepared.
Having prayed, I consented to give this a try. I began by visiting the group a couple of times, while Tony taught. Then Tony wasn’t there.
And thus began my on-the-job training as a community group leader, or facilitator as I preferred to be called. Through this past year plus, through weekly gatherings with these precious elder souls, I believe God changed the course of study. I realized these folks needed a shepherd.
Father, the Good Shepherd, let me follow behind You, help me love and serve these sheep! And remind me the lead the to the cross, to You.
