Do Not Fear

Word of the Day

I am really learning to appreciate Isaiah as I mature as a follower of Christ. There is so much wisdom found there that is applicable to our lives even today. I remember being a child, a new believer, even a young man but not much of a follower and discounting the Old Testament as, well, Old. I couldn't see that it was full of Christ.

I recently had a "close call" at work where I was within feet of certain death. Only the gracious hand of God spared what should have been the outcome; a very different Christmas for my family. The really cool part? I was completely at peace. A peace that is hard to find in this world without the knowledge of God's complete soverneigity, His complete control over our circumstances for our good, regardless if we like it or not!

That peace comes knowing what His Word says is TRUE. Knowing that because of my relationship with Him, I'm with Him.

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God." (Isaiah 41:10)

"For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." (v. 13)
