Foxhole Covenant…

Word of the Day

It is amazing what will happen when you are under fire – when you are facing an attack from the enemy or a coordinated attack from multiple enemies. Have you ever found yourself saying “God, if You only let me get through this………then I will……..” Maybe that has happened in a foxhole, maybe holding onto something porcelain. The truth of this situation is that you ultimately created a situation that you promised something to God that you failed to keep. You lied to God…we all have.

But what if….

What if…..

You “poured” yourself out for Jesus? How would your life look differently if you lived for Jesus the way that not only the Word says to, but the way that He lived for you – ALL OUT! All POURED out?

[37] And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner (prostitute), when she learned that he was reclining at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment (strongly aromatic and extremely expensive), [38] and standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears (total brokenness) and wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed his feet (when is the last time you were completely broken at the feet of Jesus) and anointed them with the ointment (this is the same reference for perfume that is used in Lk 23:56 – a very powerful perfume). [39] Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner.”
(Luke 7:37-39 ESV)

Are you the prostitute in this example or are you the Pharisee? Have you judged who is worthy? Have you ever called yourself a prostitute, a thief, a leper, or a woman who bled for years – and only begged for that one moment when you could reach out and just get a brush of His garment? Have you ever sat as a dredge of society and reached out with blind eyes begging for the Teacher to heal you? Not your eyes, but your heart? Have you ever ran ahead of the crowd to climb a tree, tore off a roof to be lowered through a hole? Stepped out of the boat you live safely in day by day to walk on water?

No? Ask yourself, better yet – get on your face and beg God to allow you to trust Him, to have that kind of faith in Him, that daring Love for Him that no matter what the group says – or better yet what the group REALLY knows about you…doesn’t matter! Do we live like that?
Saints, I join you to pray with me:

Father God,
I pray that You LORD would mightily show Yourself through Your body, Your Church so the streets, the neighborhoods, the cities, countries, and globe would know one thing….Jesus is risen! The King of Kings truly lives….HOLY, HOLY, HOLY is the Lord God Almighty….
Amen
