Grandfathering with God's View

Word of the Day

While making me a grandfather, in 2007, God brought me into a new season of life. He provided me with a view toward more generations of our family. Today, in Job 1:5, I read of Job's concern for the spiritual welfare of his children...."And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise up early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them. For Job said, 'It may be that my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts' Thus Job did continually."

He doesn't seem to be asking God to bless or protect them, his concern, as the patriarch, was that God would forgive their possible offenses. Job's focus was on God, where my focus should be when praying for my children and grandchildren. That God's covenant of grace will remain the foundation of their lives. For His name's sake.

Our kids are a message we are sending to a time (future) that we will never see.
