Are you busy this time of year? LOL

It is the night of December 17th as I write this and time is rushing towards one week from now, Christmas Eve. Some of you might be in a crazy mode by now; gifts still to buy, cookies to bake, family gatherings, parties... Oh no! I haven't even started the Christmas Cards.

This is the time when you start to cheat things like your prayer routines, your time in the word in the mornings. It seems OK, right? After all, the work you are doing is to celebrate the Birth of Christ.

Don't fool yourself. This is when you can be the most vulnerable. "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." (Proverbs 4:23) What a wise verse that is considering most of our issues are "heart" issues when it comes to sin and self focus.

Guard my heart with what you might ask? Great Question. JESUS!

"And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)

My take on that verse is we can't do it alone. We need our Savior on this one too.
