Nice Try, World!

Word of the Day

"The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1)

Today caught me a little off guard. I was going along all happy and such because next week is Christmas! (BTW - I'm still happy).

At work though, I felt like the enemy was trying to derail me at every turn. Trying to get me to react, lash out, be offended! And of course, since I'm made of flesh, I felt like I was all alone in this battle. But I realized that is the plan all along. Try to get me to forget for a moment that I belong to a Kingdom that is not of this world. Why am I afraid of what man might do to me when I'm part of God's plan.

"If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." (John 15:19)

So I have two prayers tonight. First, Lord protect me, guide me, make my responses so they glorify You. Second, Lord, search my heart and expose any sin or if I'm kidding myself. May I be a follower of Christ who happens to be employed. Not an employee who happens to be a follower of Christ.

This is my last post in this series. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a great New Year!
