Reconciliation - Thankfully.....

Word of the Day

Boy, this week all my favorite verses are coming up. I don't think it is a coincidence that is happening during my blog week. God has always been so good at giving me thought material!

If you are reading along with the church outline this year, you just read 2 Corinthians chapter 5 today.

Two parts always jump out to me and I'm so thankful for them time and time again.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone and the new has come!" (v. 17) Thank you God for that part because the old wasn't something I was all that proud of and I know I wasn't setting any kind of good example with my old life. Even when the old self wants to creep back into my life, the new self, strong in Christ ALWAYS prevails! How do I know? Because through prayer and reading his word I'm quicker to seek forgiveness and repent. Before, I just kept on keeping on!

"God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." (v. 21) The gospel in one sentence. God sent his son Jesus, who was perfect and without sin to take our sin on Him, taking our place. Sometimes I wonder what it looks like to live a life that has people seeing Jesus in me instead of me. Now, I can't give up my life to erase other people's sin, but am I "dying to self" in order to serve them? It's actually easier then you think. Everyone you talk to tomorrow, especially your spouse and kids, think first before you speak. Have their best interest in mind, think about what they need, and just let the Spirit work in you!

Have a great day!
