Salvation, Past, Present, Future

Walk with Jesus

Below you will see a short video that we watched and then discussed with our High school students last night. In the video Driscoll talks about Salvation, how eternity starts the moment we meet Jesus and that we are freed from the power of sin but not the presence of sin.

This morning in my reading I was in Romans chapter 6, now I felt like posting the whole chapter but I'll spare you(besides if your reading this on your phone it makes it seem like its as long as the Lord of the Rings Trilogy) the length.

Romans 6:12-14
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, 13 and do not go onpresenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

To me it is freeing to be reminded that we are free from the power of sin, that greater is He that is in me then he that is in the world. So that no matter what temptation the presence of sin is throwing at me, I can take courage because He has overcome the world. This doesn't free us from our responsibility to live like Jesus, but that's a different blog.
