Thank You For the Cross!

Walk with Jesus

So the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin,
and he shall be forgiven

Leviticus 4:26

And the priest shall make atonement for him ,
and he shall be forgiven
Leviticus 4:31

So the priest shall make atonement for him,
for the sin which he has committed,
and he shall be forgiven
Leviticus 4:35

Again in Leviticus 5:6, Leviticus 5:10, Leviticus 5:16, Leviticus 6:7...

What a reminder of the effect of Sin on our life. Before Christ, Sin constantly required atonement. It is hard to grasp the amount of blood being spilled on the altar and the constant need that I would have to bring another sacrifice for atonement. How humbling it would be, to commit a sin, go and get one of my animals... again... and then take it to the altar. As this struck me, I immediately thought of:

He [Christ] has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself.
Hebrews 7:27

Father in heaven, I am so thankful that you paid for my sin 'once for all'. I pray that I would never take this for granted. Father cause me to confess and forsake my sin repeatedly while proclaiming victory in Christ. From you, through you and to you are all things and apart from Christ I can do nothing. Father, thank you for adopting me and Jesus thank you for giving me your inheritance!
