The Best Influence

“They shall not live in your land, because they will make you sin against Me…” Exodus 23:33

In Exodus 23 God warned the Israelites not to intermix or make a covenant with the Hivites, Canaanites or Hittites because the people “will make you sin against Me.” What has been the most influence in your life? Whatever it is, have you ever stopped to evaluate its relevance regarding your relationship to the Lord? For the Israelites it was pretty obvious the foreign people had such an impact on them it caused them to break their relationship to God. In some cases someone or something can affect us in a subtle way causing us to gradually disregard the Lord. In other cases it can be very obvious why we withdraw from God.

The best influence for us to live our daily lives is what Paul says to the Corinthian Christians when he wrote in II Corinth 5:9; “So we make it our goal to please Him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.”

Father please cause me to be most influenced in my life by nothing other than Your Word.

Dedicated to Prayer,
