What is Eternal Life? 2

Walk with Jesus

This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3

The same God who gives us zoe (life), is the same God who gives us eternal zoe. Eternal, meaning, never to end. God not only allows us to experience this amazing life that scripture describes, here and now, but He is ever so gracious to allow us to experience this amazing life, abundantly without end.

Question, Is eternal life worth enduring this present day struggle and suffering?

Is struggling through this life, with all it's ups and downs, all it's trials and tribulations, all it's tears and fears, all it's worries and heartbreaks, all it's present day sufferings, and all it throws at us, worth experiencing eternal life?

Is it worth it?

Paul in Romans 8:18, says, "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us". Paul unanimously says, Yes, it is worth it! In fact, you can't even compare the two. Jesus, endured the cross (torture and death) for the joy that was set before Him (Hebrews 12:2). Interestingly, followers of Jesus are called to take up their own crosses, told they will suffer in this life, and also warned of what's to come. But if we also focus on the joy that is set before us, we too can endure and the enduring is worth it . The Joy that is set before us is, Jesus! Fix your eyes on Jesus, consider Him, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

One minute of eternal life with Jesus is worth enduring a life time of suffering. The best part is, we are promised more than just a minute, we are promised eternity with Jesus. Hallelujah!
