Word of the Day: 2 Kings 5:2-3
“Now the Syrians on one of their raids had carried off a little girl from the land of Israel, and she worked in the service of Naaman's wife. She said to her mistress, "Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy." 2 Kings 5:2-3
In reading 2 Kings 5, verse 2 it mentions a little girl who was taken captive. Her family lived in Israel and she probably was raised in a God fearing home. Even though she was young she showed she had faith in the Lord and believed Elisha the prophet would cure her Master of leprosy. I wonder if she saw Elisha’s miracles herself or did she have family that taught her about the power of the one True God? Either way she cared enough to be brave and speak boldly in her belief that her Master could be cured.
Every parent, who is a follower of Jesus desperately, wants their children to grow up and walk with God. I want to encourage you to continue to teach and live out your faith before your children. I love it that God in His providence used a small child to show many the power of God.
Father, please help us to love You, obey You, and be examples to our children of how to follow You.
