Word of the Day: John 10:27b

Word of the Day

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me" John 10:27

July 6th: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them," John 10:27b

Jesus moves from the amazing reality that He gives us His life giving voice to a statement that is beyond human comprehension. The God of all eternity, the God who rules the nations, the very sovereign King of all kings knows us! He knows us by name (Exodus 33:17); He knows our every action before we do it, every word from our mouth before it comes out, He formed us while in our mother's womb (Psalms 139); He's even inscribed us on the palm of His
hand and we are ever before Him (Isaiah 49:16).
It's not that we know Him but He knows us! In fact, we know Him because He first makes Himself known to us. There's never a moment when we're out of His sight or outside His care! If you ever doubt His care for us; if you ever wonder if you're alone; if your circumstances seem to suggest God is distant and uncaring you only need to look to the cross! Romans 5:8 says, "God demonstrates His love towards us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." The cross is the ultimate expression of love and the undeniable demonstration of God's desire to know us in relationship. God gave His own Son so that we might know Him, the one true God and Jesus Christ Whom He had sent (John 17:3). Do you know the God Who knows you by name? Do you want to know Him as He knows you? You only have to open the very book that reveals Him from cover to cover and ask Him to make Himself known.

"Father thank you for knowing me before I even cared to know you! Thank you for knowing and loving me even when I act like I don't know you at all. Thank you for loving me so that I may know you! Thank you Father for Jesus and sacrificing Him so that we might know You!"
