Word of the Day: John 9:16a

Word of the Day

"Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying, "This man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath."
John 9:16a

Thank you Pharisees; with this statement you have helped us indentify what it means to be religious. To be religious means to give attention to outward service or another way to say it would be, we try to make ourselves look good. If we are "religious", our main reason to attend worship service, to read the Bible, to pray, in a public setting would be to impress others so they will think we are spiritual people. It would have nothing at all to do with a relationship or giving attention to an inward heart commitment. Of course, the relationship, heart commitment, I am speaking about is with Jesus. Jesus says in John 4:23 "But the time is coming—indeed it's here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way."

Lord, please help me to see the condition of my heart to bring me to being a true worshiper of You.
