Word of the Day: Luke 22:43

Word of the Day

"And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him."
Luke 22:43

How cool would it be to have an angel appear and strengthen me! Knowing that I was totally doing the Lords work, submitting to the Lords will and in desperate need of the Lord's strength. I have read this passage many times. Jesus, in the garden, pouring his heart out 3 times as we witness the human agony of Christs submission to the phrase "not my will, but yours be done." And then comes the angel bringing strength to Jesus... and for what purpose: ENDURANCE.

There are many times I find my self begging for the Lord's power to get through a situation or a day, while simultaneously asking him to heal the situation. What I realize here, is that Jesus was strengthened here so that he could continue the road to Calvary.

"Lord, cause me to cling to you for strength. Cause me to transcend the circumstances of life and ONLY care about living out a life that is 'not my will.' Lord, as I do this, I will need your strength. So often I try to do things in my own strength, only to make it about me or to fail miserably. Lord cause me to LOVE people in your strength and to be useful to you!"

Blessings,
Rob
