Word of the Day: Proverbs 3:25-26

Word of the Day

"Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked when it comes,
for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught."
Proverbs 3:25-26

Do not be afraid... The most frequent command that Jesus gave his disciples. Why? What does that say about us as the creatures... that we are a fearful being. And even though the answer is so simple it can be so easily missed. When I am afraid. I need only to ask myself one simple question:

Where is my confidence?

As I place my confidence in other people, success, money, power, influence, my abilities etc... I always end up fearful... I know that those things are so uncertain, but yet I so often cling to them.

"Lord, Lord, BE my confidence. Lord cause all my trust to be in you so that I will not be afraid. Cause me to fall deeper in love with your and experience your perfect love that casts out fear. Cause my trust to be so solid in you that I will passionately and humbly proclaim, 'what can man do to me.' I pray that Val, Robbie, Elise & William will see that my confidence comes from you and you alone. Lord help me lead them into your presence to experience the freedom and confidence that we have in you. Lord, we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. Cause these things to be true my life that you may receive all the glory."

Blessings,
Rob
