Word of the Day: Psalm 107:5-6, 12-13, 18-19, 27-28

Walk with Jesus

They were hungry and thirsty; Their soul fainted within them. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses. Psalm 107:5-6

Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was none to help. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. Psalm 107:12-13

And they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. Psalm 107:18-19

They reeled and staggered like a drunken man, And were at their wits' end. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses. Psalm 107:27-28

Psalm 107 is one of those chapters in the Old Testament which demonstrates the magnificence of God's grace. There are only 43 verses but there are four specific times He displays His wonderful grace. You will notice that it wasn't until the people got in trouble they cried out to the Lord (6, 13, 19 & 28) and He then graciously delivered, saved or brought them out of their distresses. Of course, my fleshly tendency wonders why those people just didn't get it the first time and kept blowing it, but it only takes seconds to realize that I have the same pattern of sin in my life. I'm so thankful I can call out to the Lord and claim I John 1:9, "If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Even though it's very difficult to comprehend, isn't it SO good to know His grace.

"Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting" Psalm 107:1
