Word of the Day: Psalm 109:4

Word of the Day

Psalm 109:4

"In return for my love they act as my accusers; But I am in prayer".

Many years ago in Seattle, Diana and I participated in a quiet Christian demonstration. What it was for isn't really important and probably today we wouldn't be involved, not because it's wrong, but since then we have learned that making a statement for Christ is much more effective one on one than in a huge crowd. There were about a thousand of us, that walked in a large circle and didn't say anything. While we were walking there were many from the opposition that would march up to us and yell some very rude and untrue stuff. I'll have to admit, there were times I didn't want to remain quiet, but wanted to yell back. We went prepared to just keep quiet and pray and that's what we did. The praying part was a great blessing!

Maybe you have been or are currently in a situation where what is being said about you is not true. There is times when God allows us to explain ourselves with the right words and humble attitude, but there are also times that we need to remain quiet. It's during these times I desire to have a heart like David, even though people returned his love with false accusations, repaid him evil for good and hatred for His love, David said "But I am in prayer". David remained a friend and a man of prayer.

Father, cause me to love people no matter who they are or what they say. Help me to always pray for them.
