Word of the Day: Psalm 145:4

Word of the Day

Psalm 145:4

One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.

Memories

It's Memorial Day. Day for reflection on those loved ones who passed their faith on to us. For Jo Ann and I we remember our parents .. who brought us up in the Lord.

Yes, salvation is all the work of God, but there is a certain expectation in Scripture that spiritual heritage will be treasured by each generation and its truth transmitted from one generation to the next. Each generation is to take time to nurture the next in the things of the Spirit. Consider the following Scripture:

"It is the living who give thanks to You today; a father tells his sons about Your faithfulness" (Isaiah 38:19).

And, portions of Psalm 78 from 1 through 7, "Listen, O my people, to my instruction; incline you ears to the words of my mouth. ... That they should teach them to their children. That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born. That they may arise and tell them to their children, that they should put their confidence in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.

Jo Ann and I have prayed for our children, our children's children and now even their children's children (Noah,2; Lukas,1; and Macy, one month). Our prayer? For their salvation.

Blessings,

Tony
