Word of the Day: Psalm 81:13

Word of the Day

Psalm 81:13

"Oh that my people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways!"

I see God's desire for me - listen and obey Him. It sounds so easy, and maybe it should be. Sometimes there is a fight within me between doing what I know God says to do and what my human nature wants me to do. I love the listening part - being in the Word every morning, hearing and learning what God says. The biggest battle is taking what I've learned, and putting shoe leather to it, like responding with kind words when someone is disagreeing with me, or having patience when the car in front of me is driving slowly and I'm in a hurry. Sometimes I can easily obey God and there are times I'm like the Israelites were, not listening and not obeying. I guess that is where the fight is.

Lord, cause me to hear Your voice. Give me guidance through Your Holy Spirit for what You are saying in Your Word and then help me walk in Your ways. Thank you for Your promise in vs 16 - the result of obedience, "....I would feed you with the finest of the wheat and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you." Lord my heart's desire is to experience the satisfaction that only comes from You. Thank you Lord for Your love and Your patience.
