Word of the Day: Psalm 87:9

Word of the Day

Psalm 87:9

All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O LORD, and they shall glorify Your name.

Let the Nations Be Glad

This is, to me, a great missions verse. Jo Ann and I have made many trips to the mission in Costa Rica led by our son Mark, his wife Meg and our granddaughter Melinda. Time after time Mark will ask during our evening devotion, "What have you seen today that only God could do?'" And deep discussions follow ... for we truly see God at work, drawing people to Jesus, new believers sharing the good news and leading others to the Lord ... disciples making disciples. New home discipleship groups growing and churches coming together. All in the midst of extreme poverty.

Those who have nothing now have Jesus.

They are glad ... that's what I think this verse implies ... Costa Rica and all other nations.

This is confirmed in Revelation 5:9, "And they sang a new song saying, 'Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals, for You were slain and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe, and tongue and people and nation'."

Let the nations rejoice.

Blessings,

Tony
