It was God who sent me here!

Armor of God

I have so many "favorite" stories in the bible, but this morning during my time and the word, I was thrilled to be reading one of the best. In Genesis, the story of Joseph. Here is a kid who goes from being hated by his brothers to the point they wanted to kill him! Threw him down a well and then sold him as a slave. By God's grace and design, he becomes a powerful and important ruler in Egypt.

When reunited, Joseph tells his brothers "So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt". (Genesis 45:8)

This passage always convicts me on many different levels. Imagine the pain and heartache Joseph must have felt when betrayed by his own family. The years of wondering what God's plan was for him as he spent time in prison. Then missing his father as he rose to power, still a stranger in Egypt. Yet he recognizes God's sovereign plan in his pain and suffering, instantly forgives his brothers, and even cries tears of joy at their reunion.

Oh how I want to be such a follower of Christ who always trusts to say "It was God who sent me". That when times get tough, I'm at peace because I know life isn't some cosmic accident. The creator of the universe has a specific plan just for me!

Bonus Question: How do you know what God's plan is for your life? See the answer in the next blog.....

Have a great day.
